We are excited to host a wonderful, tranquil, creative day celebrating the beauty of British seasonal foliage and textures.
Join florist Caroline and watercolour artist Imogen for a transformative day of workshops, creativity and delicious food at the beautiful Somersbury Barn.
Spend the morning creating your own beautiful candle centrepiece arrangement with Caroline’s expert guidance. We will break for a delicious lunch from Lucinda at Somersbury Barn. The afternoon will be spent with Imogen talking you through the process of capturing those arrangements in watercolour. This tranquil, creative and transformative day will leave you with a wonderfully clear mind, with your painting and flower arrangement to take home.
The workshops are aimed at complete beginners, but all levels of experience would be very welcome.
We really hope to inspire more people to discover and enjoy in the creative processes that bring us joy every day.
The Floristry Workshop
Working with natural materials allows you to step outside the day to day and feel closer to what’s going on around you in nature. You will be using seasonal foliage and textures, creating a gorgeous design with the very best of what’s growing around you.
We will be making a gorgeous seasonal table arrangement, with candles. We will use winter foliages, berries and dried textures to create a lovely natural design which should last for several weeks. The technique and mechanics (and dried elements) can then be reused so that you can create another arrangement for the festive period, perhaps using ingredients from your own garden.
You will take your beautiful centrepiece home to keep or pass on the joy to a loved one.

The Watercolour Workshop
Watercolour is an incredibly mindful creative outlet, allowing for lots of experimental play, taking your focus to the details in front of you and away from the fast pace of everyday life. Imogen is passionate about sharing her love of painting and the way she works with watercolour, as well as the benefits of the process. Her gentle and supportive guidance will encourage you to find your own creative path.
Learn some basics of watercolour, mixing colours and practicing techniques to capture your arrangement from the morning session. Inviting you to look closer, noticing every details, celebrating the seasonal, local flowers.
All materials will be provided for use within the workshop and as well as your painting, you will also come away with your own watercolour guide that Imogen has put together to allow you to continue your practice at home.
