What happens to the flowers after the wedding?

Every year I try to become more sustainable as a business, in keeping with my ethos and 2023 is no exception - reducing my waste is one of the key things I consider and this year I am teaming up with two great companies to help me do just this.

Today, I’m talking about flower waste - after a wedding I’m often left with a lot of spent blooms that are still perfectly useable and while I can compost all of these, it seems a shame to dispose of them when they still have life left in them. Some couples like to keep some of the flowers after the wedding but usually there are far too many for them to want them all especially if they are heading away soon after their wedding day.

Beautiful blooms, the day after the wedding

So to solve this problem, this year I will be working with Confetti Club London, who are a not-for-profit company who take waste flowers and turn them into confetti to sell on, whilst donating any of their profits to charity. So while reducing my own waste, I’ll also be contributing to a fabulous new product and helping charity - it’s a win win in my opinion :)
