Cutting Garden update

Dahlia ‘Jowey Winnie’

Dahlia ‘Jowey Winnie’

It’s been a busy couple of months of weddings but I’ve been trying to keep on top of the new cutting garden and it has paid off with lots of gorgeous blooms including these beautiful dahlias.

Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Double Click Snow Puff’

The cosmos has also been doing well and I just adore this double puff variety - so pretty! It doesn’t have the longest vase life as a flower so you have to cut it at just the right moment but it is great for weddings when it can look its very best for the day.

Ammi majus

One of the other things that has been doing well this year is the ammi - I wasn’t sure how it would grow as I direct sowed it but it has done fabulously. In fact the direct sown flowers generally have done really well - the nigella is also blooming prolifically currently although I sowed it a bit late but it just means I still have lots of flowers now in late August.

Wrinkled Crinkled Cress

In terms of foliage I have loved this wrinkled crinkled cress - this will definitely be on my list for next year - it has just been fabulous and such a pretty textural filler!

So although I was a bit late getting things in the ground by the time the cutting beds were completed, I’ve been really pleased with them! I’ve already put in my seed order for next year and have added quite a lot of new varieties so very excited to get sowing again soon!

So if you’re looking for seasonal flowers grown with love for your wedding or event then get in touch!
